Our Process

How we get you from this:

To this:

Step 1:

Fill out the information on our Contact Us page. Make sure to include as much information as you can.

Step 2:

We will contact you to set up an appointment time for your initial consultation.

Step 3:

Your consultation. We will come out to your home and walk through the project. At this time we will discuss your wants and needs and get the footwork for a custom design. During this meeting we ask that you have a copy of your Real Property report and any architectural guidelines that you may have for your property.

Step 4:

The design. One of our designers will create a basic design, a quote and a product examples page for you to review. Once you have had a chance to review the first draft, then we can make any changes or answer any of your questions. *If you require a comprehensive landscape design plan please let us know and we can provide you with information on pricing.

Step 5:

Sign. Once you are happy with the design and the quoted price we will meet to go over our contract, any questions you may have and time line. If you are ready to move forward we will sign the contract and collect your initial deposit (25%).

Step 6.

Construction. Once you sign with us, we take care of the details for you. We will submit your final grade survey, we will forward any documents to you that you may need for your developer or builder and we will correct any issues or deficiencies that may arise along the way. Second deposit is due when we begin construction (25%).

If any changes or unforeseen issues arise, you will always be contacted before any extras or additions are added to the project – this way there are no surprises.

Throughout the project we will check in with you to see how everything is going on your end and provide you with updates. If you ever have any questions or concerns during construction it is very important that you speak to the office or a site leader. This ensures that if there needs to be any adjustments made (or questions answered) they can be completed during construction.

Step 7.

Walk-through. When the project is complete, we will complete a site walk-through with you and answer any questions that you may have and insure that everything is as you expected. If you are happy with the end result we collect the remainder of the amount owing.

Step 8.

Enjoy. Relax in your beautiful custom designed yard. Invite your friends over and end it with a cheers!

Zen Garden Landscape Design

Life is busy and for most of us, it gets stressful or even overwhelming. Between work, kids, school, money, social events or whatever it is in your life that causes you anxiety, it is becoming harder and harder to quiet our minds.

We spend lots of time and money to ‘get away’ and escape so we can unwind and calm our thoughts. Maybe your escape is the mountains, the beach or maybe you like to go to a cottage. A place where you can unplug and reconnect.

As a landscape designer I take those things into account when designing a landscape plan for a client. You don’t have to escape from your reality to enjoy life. We can help to bring some peace and comfort to you.

As a business owner and landscape designer I am extremely busy in the summer months. I also have 2 demanding (but wonderful) kids, I am an artist and I am a meditation coach. Trying to balance the things I want to do and the things I have to do becomes quite the stressful juggling act.

To help me find that much needed balance and peace I transformed my ordinary backyard into my outdoor office and meditation room. I bring my laptop and a glass of tea into my gazebo in my back yard. The trees, shrubs, grass and flowers fill the air with a fresh summer smell. The birds chirping and the bubbling water from my fountain are the noise in the background. The sun on my skin feels me with vitamin D and makes me feel calmer and happier.

Since I’ve done this to my yard, my productivity and creativity have increased, my stress and anxiety have decreased. I no longer feel the urge to throw my phone in a lake and head for the mountains. I have created a getaway right here in my back yard.

My daughter loves our fairy garden where she grows strawberries and flowers. My son loves the trees where he can climb and make forts. My husband loves the patio where he can BBQ and visit with our friends.

I almost forgot to mention the firepit area and the hammock! I don’t know of too many things I enjoy as much as lying in the hammock watching the squirrel sneak into the bird feeder to loot the seeds. The firepit is a great place to enjoy some real facetime with my family without any distractions.

When I design a landscape I always try to imagine what it will be like for you to sit out there. In the middle of the city with all of the distractions, can I share that home getaway feeling with my clients?

Of course every client is different. Some people love lots of flowers, some people like gardens, some people like simple designs … getting to know you and your hobbies helps us to design a yard with the right attributes for you.

You don’t have to be into meditation or yoga to enjoy the benefits of having a place where you can unwind, relax, reconnect and find balance. We are here to help make that become your reality.

Custom Natural Stone Firepit & Patio

A firepit creates a space where you and your family and friends can talk and connect without the distractions of technology or crowded bars. With only 6 or 7 months of summer available here in Alberta, we tend to spend as much time outside as we can. Make the most of it with evenings under the stars, marshmallows and the warmth of a crackling fire.

Patio Style

Patios don’t have to be boring. There are all kinds of patterns, materials and shapes that we can do to insure you get something you’ll love for years to come. You can use precast concrete pavers or natural stone. You can add boarders or planters built right into your patio. The colour varieties are much higher than they’ve ever been!
